Talking About “Generation-ism”

There seems to lots of ism’s and expressive “new language” bombarding the American public these days. The term “generation gap” has been redefined to become know as Generation-ism. We need to stop pointing fingers, and end making excuses as to why we can’t “get involved”. We need to stop hoping someone else will solve the insurmountable problems we are facing now, and take affirmative action. In the future, we may have living proof that it’s love and caring that really matters.

Fact: pointing fingers never solved anything.

I Believe

To believe is to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something-without absolute truth that one is right in doing so.

I believe in things that are invisible to the eye, if only we would take the time to look. If we do, we will discover that life’s purpose is grounded in simplicity – we only need to find the shoes that will help us to walk down the road of understanding. It can be a good day from morning til night, and a beautiful sunset always turns into an even more meaningful sunrise. There is so much to believe in, and like stars across the sky, we were born to shine.

There are still some of us hippies walking around; older but wiser now. We still walk in the truth, rather than blindly accepting what the establishment tells us to believe in.

Before the hippies there lived a generation of young people who gave birth to non- conformity; they were called Beatniks. They dressed in black, wore berets and sandals for the most part, and called coffee houses their meeting place.

A generation that made a difference in the world of the day. Today, we only get hints of the current generation’s awareness of global warming and going green. They are for the most part quiet; nothing like the beatniks and hippies before them. Perhaps once they look away from their weapons of mass distraction, they will see their destiny. Until then, we shall remember the beatniks and hippies as cultures that not only wanted change-but created it.

One Word- It Makes Total Sense

If you could choose one word to describe the very essence of life, what would it be? If you chose the word “money,” that would be an incorrect answer. Money can’t buy you love.  Where there is love, there is hope, and hope springs eternal.

Love is not a second hand emotion, it is the bridge to connection and oneness. The “love age” has arrived – hitch your wagon to it, and make sure you sit in the drivers seat. Oh, what a ride! It’s what makes the world go round and round. You will love it. Our children will love it, because it matters.

I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows

I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, a candle glows

I believe for everyone that goes astray, someone will come to show the way

I believe above the storm the smallest prayer will still be heard

I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry, or touch a leaf, or see the sky, then I know why I believe

Believe in love and find the hidden places in another persons heart…

I believe that once in a while in an ordinary life, something extraordinary happens…

I believe that nothing is worse than being apart from one another…

We need connection…

We need one another…

Love Worth Sharing

Love is not just another four letter word, nor is it only observed on Valentines day. Love is what sustains us through the most difficult of times, and it is the essence of God, or for some – the universe. Either way you choose, the only hope we have to heal the wounds from the tragic events taking place all over America, lies in the hearts of it’s people. That intimacy must be deposited into the hearts of our children, from the moment they are born. A love worth sharing, but first we must discover it within ourselves.

To deny our children of this endearment, is not an option anymore. It’s a necessity. We must move closer to the child in us to understand the true meaning, and the power of this love. Only then can we  infuse this benevolence into the souls of our children. Do we owe them any less?

We cannot allow the media and other evil perpetrators to suck them into a world that they consider the new way of life in America. The idea that anything goes is unacceptable, and we must insist our children will grow up in a safe and loving America. Only through our commitment to love them unconditionally as God loves us, will they will grow up living in a giving world around them.

Dearly Beloved-A Love Letter

Dearly beloved:

This is the first love letter I have ever written. I’ll get right to point and tell you that I love you with all my heart and soul. There, I got over the hardest part. I really wanted to tell you in person, but I could never bring myself to telling you face to face. Your grandeur was too big.

When I look back on my life, I was too immature to appreciate my love for you, and all the important things you stand for. Looking at you and loving you from afar has always been difficult, but now I must come forward and tell you how much I love you and need you-before it’s too late.

We have had a wonderful history together, and I will always be awe of your beauty and majesty. You were always there for me and will forever be a portrait of beauty. You possess the power of a queen, and the allure of countless  hidden treasures. Even when things became distant between us, and after all the times you left me out in the cold, I will to embrace you to the end of time.

It is time to rescue you from the dangers that lie ahead of you. I will be your rock – your Gibraltar. It’s the very least I can for you after all have done for me my precious, and for that I will be eternally grateful. Through the years you never let me down. You always turned my world around, with your compassion to treat everyone you met with open arms. You have always been a statue of liberty in my eyes, and to everyone who has ever come to know you. Sometimes I feel like I am loosing my best friend –  someone who always taught me right from wrong. Watching you change so much right in front of my eyes, seems like closing books and long last looks my love. Above all, your voice sings let freedom ring. You are my beacon of love and hope. So bring me your heart no matter how broken, come as you are. For all that you thirst for, you will thirst no more, and all who search for you will find what their souls are longing for. Here in this moment, I choose to reach out and touch your heart.

It is with great pride, compassion, love, and loyalty that I will always pledge my allegiance to you. It is for you my dearly beloved America, that I shall sing your praises from sea to shining sea. If we must turn back time, we will find our way.

It is in you and God, I put my trust.

The American Flag Revisited

In America today, there seems to be a lack of understanding as to why we should teach our children,  that the flag of the United States of America is where all of us need to pledge our allegiance. To understand the importance of this homage, we must first understand it’s symbolism.

Originally the symbol and banner of the thirteen colonies, its form and colors, were not chosen on the basis of rational thought. But on the basis of an intuition infused by truth and guidance, which led to the correlation between the people, and that flag America came to call her own. It was on intention that the founders of this great nation, that we it’s citizens be ordained the watchful and guiding eye over it’s destiny.

At the time of her birth, America’s flag was simply bands of red and white, and a circle of stars against a background of blue. Yet, in it’s simplicity, lay a depth of meaning and purpose.

The red is emblematic of the blood, that was shed in the war that led to the establishment of our independent republic. The white stripes that accompany the red, signifies the higher realms of purpose that connects mankind.

Finally, the blue background against which the stars are placed, is a symbol of the eternal being of God. It represents the Infinite, out of which both America’s identity and the earth itself has been constructed. The blue that represents America’s relationship to God, remains as the assurance that this connection will never change-no matter what ideology becomes popular. It’s why “In God We Trust” is written on all of her currency, and why in so many other instances, the connection with the eternal has been enunciated as part of America’s most transcendent document.

The stars on the blue background, identifies the composite image showing the many changes from thirteen original colonies, to now representing the much vaster size of fifty states. The number of stars in the original pattern was shaped in the form of a circle, a symbol of unity. This flag of America is the hallmark of her sacred heart. Her soul is a nation whose spiritual name is love.

The Force Within

There’s one thing that exists within all of us. It’s “the power of one.” For some, it lies deeper within our psyche, waiting to be uncovered. This extraordinary power will help to change the world around us. One good deed at a time. It’s a choice we must make, and the time is now.

Take a step back, and take this journey of self-discovery seriously.  If you do this with complete honesty and regularity, you will begin a journey of discovering who you really are. Sometimes that change can happen overnight-sometimes in an instant. Don’t get caught up only in the moment- make it your life’s work. By taking affirmative action, you will become the catalyst to help others find their source of purpose. That gives power to the people. The question then becomes-will you do it?

The power of one…it makes perfect sense in an imperfect world.

Reflecting On A Day

There are days in our lives that we must never forget. For those of us who were awakened by the shocking news on Sept 11, 2001, it is a day we will always remember. Let it be a reminder that despite what happened on that fateful day, we the people of this great nation will continue to hold our heads up high. We shall persist to reach out to each other, to find the strength to be fearless in our continual pursuit of world peace.

After all, a world that lives in harmony – is still possible.
