We are living in a world that to seems to be a world without connection. I am not referring to the world of being connection by technology, but the world of being connected to each other. My belief is that all of us are neo-biologically wired to feel this oneness. There is only one reason we deny the most powerful human emotion called love to grow. We are afraid to reveal our vulnerability.

With all this data without a soul, our perception of life tends to believe-if you can’t measure it, it doesn’t exist. This allows us to become disconnected from each other, and prevents us understanding the true meaning of being human. That would be– to make someone else’s life better.

Life is messy, love it anyway

Don’t jump into discomfort, lean into it

Have the courage to be imperfect

Connection is why we are here, it gives real meaning to our lives

We believe we are worthy of love, but fear that we are not worthy of connection

Find that compassion to be kind to yourself first — then you can give to others

As a result of our own authenticity, we will gain a compassion connection to others around us

Fully embrace “vulnerability”, believe that what makes us vulnerable-also makes us beautiful

Vulnerability is not comfortable, but it’s necessary

Letting someone in so far they could hurt you, will allow them to give you their everything

Vulnerability is the willingness to say I love you “first”-with no guarantees you’ll get it back

We sometimes try to numb being vulnerable, but we can’t selectively freeze our emotions

There are no assurance’s in life, but let yourself be seen, and love with an open heart

Opening up our vulnerability, is the birthplace of love, life, joy, and belonging to God…

The Patriotism Of Diversity

There is a word circulating within America today, which is often used to describe the body and soul of a person who believes that America is worth saving. That word would be ‘patriot’. Those of us who claim to be patriots are proud to defend our beliefs associated with this word. Patriots are considered to be of good moral value, encapsulating many attributes- among them goodness, kindness and courage. To be a patriot is to be aligned with what is morally right, which is the ability to understand and distinguish right from wrong.

However, to be a patriot and to disagree with some one else’s point of view, should not exclude them from your definition of the words best used to describe a person who is patriotic. Today, such exclusion has played a damaging role in creating a sharp division, that has produced a chasm between those who may have opposing views.

This is commentary which must lead us to an understanding of the essential goodness that most human beings carry. We must also understand, there are others who may share a different point of view. Today, such exclusion plays an equally damaging role, causing a polarization in American political life that has caused a schism of vast proportions between those who hold different philosophical views. The definition of patriotism over many years has come to mean a variety of things, some of which are stronger in some than others.

Among the things that one may include in their definition of what it means to be a patriot are among the following:

Love for one’s country and belief she is worth saving

Commitment to the ideals upon which she was founded

Hope for the future of the nation

Desire to rectify past mistakes that have been made

Faithfulness to the Constitution

Belief in all things right

As patriotic Americans, we must ask ourselves this one question. Is America worth saving? If the answer is yes, we must see to it that this new commitment to the ideals of America are not the same approval of her practices in the past or the present. We must ask ourselves what role do we play in this country worth saving.

America is not one thing, she is many things. And being a patriot is not one thing, but many. The new patriotism that America needs is one that will be based on diversity, honesty and trust. With these values, and wearing the banner of hope, sound ideals, and a good sustainable moral code, we may come to the realization that yes – indeed she is worth saving. We need to do this not for future generations alone, but more importantly, for the people who lived before us and laid down their lives so we may know the true meaning of liberty.

Watching and Waiting

It’s time to ask the question — what is it that defines us? A simple question, without an easy answer. Most of us would have to think about it for awhile, before we come up with a solution that is relevant. Are we living an authentic life that identifies the real us, the person we were created to be — or the fictitious self, the one everyone expects us to be?

We may not know the explanation, because we can only find our unlimited self at our absolute core. The problem is, we don’t know how to get there. Until then, we will find ourselves incomplete, existing with a hole in our soul, desperately trying to fill the void with stuff. That never works. We must unlock
our innate ability to think for ourselves, and peel away the layers of confusion, doubt, and distraction. Then we will find the designed answer, and space for doing the right thing. It is there we will find our self, and a portal to eternal love.
