Knocking At Heaven’s Door
The loss of a child will be the worst traumatic event any parent can experience. Although death is inevitable, when it comes violently and without warning, especially to a child, it is unspeakable. I hope I can find the words to offer even the slightest comfort to those who lost Jeremiah before his time on earth was through. Last week, his precious life was taken away by a brutal, senseless, and heinous act of a cowardly father. The death of a child should never happen before their time, especially in such a horrific act of evil.
For me, the most painful part was knowing that when Jerimiah woke up that day, he had no idea it would be his last; that his life would no longer belong to him but to the God of all things. There is no doubt whatsoever that God welcomed his spirit into glory with open arms. Although I never met this young child, I immediately dedicated my new website to him, so that his life would not be taken in vain. The memories he left behind will live forever in the hearts of those who came to know and love him. There will be a gaping hole in everyone’s heart forever, and we must not wait to reach out and protect our children, who belong to all of us.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” The son in whom God delights is the eternal image and reflection of God and is thus God himself.
In Our Hearts
We thought of you today
But that is nothing new
We thought about you yesterday, too
And days before that too
We think of you in silence
We often speak your name
Now we are left with memories
And your picture in a frame
Your memory is our keepsake
With which we’ll never part
God has you in his keeping
We have you in our heart
To Jeremiah, as you sit in heaven, know that you will never be forgotten.
Blessings dear child,

A young boy’s life taken too early. Why did his father not take his own life if he was so distraught and not do this to innocent people.

Absolutely hard to fathom that such a loss had to occur. My heart aches for the loved ones that Jeremiah left behind. Such a senseless crime is not acceptable. We should treat every day as a gift and do all we can to show love and compassion as often as humanly possible.
