Time To Go Fishing

Time To Go Fishing

Catching fish is easy. All you need is a pole, worms, lures, and the perfect spot where the fish are biting. Some days are perfect for fishing. The sky is clear. The water is calm while quietness takes respite along the shoreline. Then, for no apparent reason, there are no bites. You wait to see what happens, while your patience begins to unravel and you begin to lose sight of the day; the reason you went there in the first place. Most men give up and go home.

But not fishers of men who are determined to finish what they started, even when the water has lots of turbulence and a strong undercurrent. They know that if the first fish doesn’t bite, it’s important to be patient and cast your bait further out until you catch as many as you need to fill your quota.

I believe that the same scenario applies to men who take action when something needs to be done, even when the odds are against them. Men who accept a challenge or responsibility, to rise to the occasion. A man’s love and responsibility boil down to professing, providing, and protecting; at times paying the ultimate sacrifice.

Now, more than ever, we need men to take the lead in bringing awareness of the importance of brotherhood, sisterhood, and solidarity while fostering equality among the sexes. Progressive men, women, and our youth will then play a significant role in working alongside each other to strengthen connection, community, and involvement while promoting girls’ and women’s leadership roles. Gender equality is a fundamental human right and the foundation necessary to achieve a peaceful, thriving, equitable, and sustainable world. If we want to see a change in the world around us, we need to begin by changing ourselves…

The future of our nation for our children’s children, and the survival of our species, now rests on the shoulders of these mighty men who live, breathe, and accept the commandments of the God they fear and serve; To recognize and and rightly respond to God’s glory and authority. He said, “To become spirit beings in the family you must love and I will judge.”

I love the analogy! Patience is truly a virtue in all that we do! Our God has so much patience with us and He’s the supreme example of how we should conduct ourselves. Spirit beings are sometimes angels that minister to us, I believe. We should heed the call and help to prepare the next generation. If we lead by example, it will have a domino effect, to create positive and lasting change. May God bless us all.
