I’m Finally Me
I was obsessed with the perfect picture of life.
So I searched my world in and out.
And for a moment I said,
Do you know if this is it? Is this what it’s all about?
I looked at life through foggy lenses
My camera head was worn with too much pride
I thought it held every moment that I kept inside my head
And my heart
Now, when I look back at those pictures
I can’t remember how I felt
The way the warm air felt
I can’t remember what days were good, and what were bad
If only I had a snapshot of those moments
That no one else had
That no one else wanted
So, I threw my camera away
Now, I use my eyes instead
To take pictures for my scrapbook inside my head
Where no one ever goes
I always thought the pictures would last a lifetime
But then I thought
Why save them
Memories last much longer
Remember this, my friends.
“It all begins and ends with who you are.”
Blessings,
