Wending One’s Way

Wending One’s Way

While the world is asleep

 I lie wide awake

And embrace the tranquility that awaits me

While the stillness that the morning brings, I take

I bask in nature’s quiet delight

The morning dew lingers throughout my sound condition

The grass beneath my feet refreshes my soul

As I stroll along the path I have chosen

I breathe in the fresh air with my fingertips

My worries begin to fade away

As I revel in its beauty that engulfs me

I walk in perfect harmony

And become a nomad

Wandering through the lane

With nothing but thoughts at hand

Whether it be day or night

I try to make sense of my winless plight

I wonder of my purpose so all alone

And wonder where my journey will take me

Will it be back home?

I know that life is but a winding road

With many twists and turns untold

But I sometimes embrace it with arms open wide

And walk with undisturbed courage

Amidst life’s unforgiving hours

I continue on my walk

With a heart filled with hope and love

And a mind that soars like a dove

As I walk along natures revelry

With footsteps tread upon the earth

The joy of walking often takes me back to where I was born

And I shall die

But on some evenings and in mornings enchanted way

I walk the world in wonder

And have no words to say

When the night begins to lose it’s life

There in the woods, the sun touches the ground

The walk of life has just begun to end

When I am left alone search for me and find me

And when I am left alone, draw me closer to you

May you enjoy good fortune for the rest of your days

Such a poignant verse! It takes me on a walk through times past. Life does have many facets. Some avenues are planned and others are very unexpected! Through it all, it has made us who we are today. Our character, our beliefs and our approach to what’s ahead reveals how we have tested over time. All of our journeys , with God’s grace, have given us the ability to live and love better and stronger.
