Angels In The Morning

Angels In The Morning

I literally roll out of bed at the exact time every morning except for the mornings that I get the spiritual “nudge”. Being as accustomed as I am to it, I know better than to ignore it and go back to sleep.

This was one of those mornings.

The darkness of the night was just hanging on as the sun backlit with what appeared to be globes of hazy reddish light that cracked through the heavy cloud cover. I got off at my usual exit from the east and rounded the corner while I headed toward the salon.

Straight ahead, I watched a woman get out of her car and hand what I’m sure was a breakfast meal to a less fortunate man. It was very obvious that they then stood in prayer. She got in, turned around, and headed toward the interstate.

I followed her because a few days earlier a client told me about a woman who drove around the city giving food to the poverty-stricken. I remembered the exit she mentioned and because I was curious, and the woman was headed in that direction, I chose to follow my instincts. I pulled my car off to the side of the road at the top of the exit and watched the exact scenario unfold. Heading back to the salon. I realized that I had just witnessed what that “nudge” was all about. It happens all the time, and I can’t wait to feel it again.

Since I was a kid, I have witnessed the work of “borrowed angels” more times than I care to mention. God’s most precious gifts are not always invisible, and the incomprehensible only exists when you don’t believe in anything.
