What We Really Need

What We Really Need

When I thought I needed sunshine, he sent me rain

When I thought I needed healing and already had my share of pain, he sent me more

When I was looking for a mountaintop, all I saw were the valleys below

Jesus always seems to know what I need

When I thought I needed friendship, he made me stand alone

When I thought I was doing right, he said I was wrong

When I thought I need a blessing, he sent a trial my way

Now I know what it  means to suffer for awhile

He knows exactly what I need;

To walk the narrow way

To keep me humble

To make me pray

He knows when the clouds cover the sky;

He sends me to walk in the sunshine and call out his name.

He sends me to my knees to listen; Verily Verily I say unto you, Ye Must Be Born Again

He knows that I have no place else to go

What we need is an old-fashioned revival

One that will bring us to our knees

We need a haven of rest by the stream of life with him who holds our tomorrow

We need blessed assurance for God to be the glory

We need amazing grace on a hill called Mount Calvary

We need our Savior’s love to come down from heaven with the glory to fill our souls

We need to sit upon the Rock of Ages and look out at the Old Rugged Cross

We need to sing “Love Lifted Me” out loud;

We need Jesus Christ.

Blessings my dear friends,

    What a profound reading! There are times when our quietness speaks loudly! Our dear Lord sees and hears our every need. My mother always told me that God never gives us more than we can bear, even though we can’t understand the pain and sadness in the moment. There’s a song that I sing to my grandson: Jesus is the One, He’s the only One. Let Him have His way until His work is done. When He speaks you’ll know, the clouds will have to go; just because He loves us so! Blessings from above 🙏

    So true, we are alway looking or should I say searching for answers to life, when it’s always right inside of us, praying always seems to help no matter what our problems may be.
